The Kebab House isn’t what we’d call your ordinary restaurant here in Kissimmee. Sure, we’re a little bit biased to think that we’re different from our local competitors, but our Mediterranean cuisine goes beyond...well, standard Mediterranean cuisine. We’re a Halal restaurant, and that means that the nearby Islamic community can eat here knowing that they’re in accordance with Islamic law. In other words, you won’t find anything that’s haram, or forbidden, at our Kissimmee restaurant.
What Makes Our Food Possible At The Kebab House
There are certain ingredients that we incorporate into our menu that are characteristic of traditional Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine and are, of course, halal. Our food is known to be as flavorful and delicious as it is healthy, and that’s why we’d like to take today’s blog post to highlight the all-star ingredients that go into our dishes. They’re the real MVPs!
To learn more about our approach to halal food, feel free to contact our team with any questions or concerns that you might have. Our menu is also available to view at any time, as is our gallery. Let’s get started!
Our delicious falafels simply wouldn’t be possible without chickpeas, seeing as that’s what falafels are almost entirely composed of. A legume from the Fabaceae family, chickpeas are extremely nutritionally dense and protein-packed. Though renowned for their protein content, chickpeas are also quite high in fiber, carbohydrates (great for pre or post-exercise!), and contain several essential vitamins and minerals to support your daily health.
You may know of chickpeas as “garbanzo” beans, but don’t be confused — they’re two different words for the same legume. Chickpeas are also known as Bengal gram and Egyptian peas around the world.
Hummus is also almost entirely made out of chickpeas. They’re like a falafel, but in ready-to-dip form!
